An instructive photo journal by Henry Carroll encourages photographers to get creative with their cameras

Following Read This If You Want to Take Great Photographs and Read This If You Want to Take Great Photographs of People, Henry Carroll has released his third instructional photo journal Use This if You Want to Take Great Photographs. The book is designed to push amateur photographers to explore their creative boundaries.

In the book, the author and photographer Henry Carroll gives simple instructions accompanied by tips and tricks, instead of complex diagrams and camera-tech jargon. Use This if You Want to Take Great Photographs guides its reader through the fundamentals of creative photography.

On every other page is work by what Henry Carroll considers to be a “master photographer.” These pieces are used as examples for the reader to assess and learn from.

Henry Carroll studied photography at the Royal College of Art in 2005. Next to publishing books and being an artist, he also is an entrepreneur. In 2008, he founded Frui, a company specialised in photography trips and experiences around the world.
