Two unreleased David Bowie albums out on Record Store Day

Prepare for Cracked Actor and Bowpromo

A year after his death, David Bowie’s recording archives are being opened up. And two albums of unreleased material are out for next month’s Record Store Day, which celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Cracked Actor: Live in Los Angeles 1974 is a three-album set recorded on Bowie’s Philly Dogs Tour. The show appears across five sides of vinyl, with the sixth including an etching of Bowie.

Bowpromo is a promo album from 1971. While the original featured seven songs by Bowie and five by actress Dana Gillespie, the reissue features only the Bowie tracks – with new sleeve notes and Bowie prints.

The two albums are limited editions, so will probably get snapped up quick. Don’t sleep on it.
