Thurston Moore: Cassette Door Day

Thurston Moore has release two tracks to support the Free Chelsea Manning campaign

Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore is to release a single on tape in support of US Army private Chelsea Manning – who was given a 35-year prison sentence in 2013 for violating the Espionage Act by disclosing documents to WikiLeaks. Profits will be donated to the Free Chelsea Manning Campaign.

Along with drummer Ryan Sawyer, and his regular bandmates Deb Googe of My Bloody Valentine, and Nøught’s James Sedwards, Thurston Moore recorded two new songs for the limited cassette-only release.

The release is for Cassette Store Day 2016, an annual tape-fest that also includes limited edition tracks from Courtney Barnett, Fake Laugh, the Pixies and Soft Walls.
