This weekend, Shanghai plays host to Photofairs, the Asia Pacific region's leading photography fair. It will the event's third edition.
Photofairs Shanghai 2016 will feature stands for 50 leading galleries, drawn from 24 cities and 15 countries. As well as spanning the globe, it also features work from throughout the medium's history. Artists represented include Wim Wenders, Robert Mapplethorpe, Mario Sorrenti and William Klein.
Alongside the commercial stalls, the fair will feature Insights, a curated exhibition that looks at new approaches to traditional photography techniques. There will also be spotlights for galleries new to mainland China, conversations with curators and artists, and book signing opportunities.
