Sex Pistols are 40 years old: a new book charts the history of the Pistols, with contributions from pop critic Jon Savage

Rizzoli has released previously unseen material of the Sex Pistols. God Save Sex Pistols* features contributions from author Jon Savage and Glenn Terry.

Published to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Sex Pistols’ formation – as well as of the punk itself – the book draws from materials including band manager Malcolm McLaren’s handwritten letters, never-before-seen photographs of the band, Jamie Reid’s album artwork and a range of ephemera from concert tickets to fanzines. Together, they provide the most comprehensive visual history of the band and UK punk.

God Save Sex Pistols’ was edited by John Kugelberg, a writer and curator. He has authored books including The Velvet Underground: A New York Art and Punk: An Aesthetic. Jon Savage is the author of pop culture books including England’s Dreaming and Teenage: The Creation of Youth Culture.
