During Germany’s Weimar Republic, between the first and second world war, the country was flourishing with new literature, philosophy and art. Alongside this ran a golden age in publishing, producing book covers that reflected the cultural boom.
The Book Cover in the Weimar Republic brings together 1,000 examples from this 14-year period. It covers a range of titles from children books to translated novels; political literature to artist monographs. The book is based on a collection owned antique book dealer Jürgen Holstein.
