Taschen has released a giant volume of photographs by Daniel Kramer of the singer Bob Dylan, aged 23. The Collector’s Edition of A Year and a Day is limited to 1,765 copies, each signed by Daniel Kramer.
Kramer and Dylan both met for the first time in Woodstock, 1964. At first, Dylan was restless and uncomfortable in front of the camera. But, from 1964 to 1965, Kramer won Dylan’s trust and was given extraordinary access to Dylan on tour, in concert and backstage.
Highlights from the book include pictures of the Lincoln Center’s Philharmonic Hall concert with Joan Baez; the Bringing It All Back Home recoding sessions; and Dylan’s concert at Forest hills, when he famously transitioned to electric guitar.
The book also features pictures of Dylan’s friends Johnny Cash, Allen Ginsberg and Albert Grossman.
